Annual Wellness Visits are Crucial for Happy and Healthy Employees

It’s almost a new year, which means we’re encouraging members to schedule an annual wellness visit with their primary care provider (PCP). These preventive care visits are 100% covered by your Premera health plan. Designating a Kinwell primary care provider adds up to savings for Premera members but is also required for members with a Premera Blue Cross HMO plan.

What is Kinwell?

Kinwell is an independent company that has a mission aligned with ours, so we began working with them in 2022. They’re our preferred primary care provider. Members are encouraged to seek care at Kinwell to save time and money on local, whole-person care.

Reminder for groups with Premera Blue Cross HMO (PBC HMO): PBC HMO members must  see their designated PCP. If your employee did not add a designated PCP to their dashboard, they may have been assigned to a Kinwell provider at a local clinic.

Check with your employees to make sure they know they can always change their PCP through their member portal and let us know.

We’ve heard from PBC HMO members that this requirement can be confusing to navigate. Moving forward, we’re doing our best to improve how we communicate what members need to know about PCPs, referrals, and direct care.
