Welcoming PBC HMO Plan Members in 2026
Beginning January 2026, we’re welcoming Premera Blue Cross HMO members with helpful information to get them acquainted with their health plan benefits. Members with a PBC HMO plan in 2026 will receive both a welcome email and brochure in the mail.
We’ve been preparing a number of enhancements for PBC HMO in 2026, including the launch of our new employer page and many changes in how we communicate with members.
Digital-first communications: We’re shifting toward a digital-first approach to communication and cutting back on the amount of paper we send members.
Electronic explanation of benefits (eEOBs): New PBC HMO members will be automatically enrolled in eEOBs. Returning PBC HMO members will need to opt in manually through their account on premera.com.
PCP assignments: Members will not receive a physical PCP assignment letter in the mail, but they can change or select a PCP when they sign in to their Premera account. Members will receive a welcome brochure with a QR code that leads to their dashboard. If they’d like a printed letter with their PCP assignment, members can request one through their secure Premera email or by calling customer service at the number on the back of their member ID card.
Additional resources: Members will get another mailing in spring that provides helpful information, resources, and tips on how to use their plan. We encourage them to keep this brochure for reference. It also comes with a wallet-size card to help them navigate referrals and direct care.
A new approach
In May, we changed our communications to help improve access to important, unbiased information about healthcare. You’ll now see HMO 101 and Did you know sections throughout our materials and on the website.
