Designated PCPs Can Save Members More

January 16, 2025

Primary care plays a critical role in healthcare. Individuals with an established primary care provider (PCP) often have better health outcomes and reduced total cost of care.1,2

Premera small group members can reduce their costs even more when they designate a PCP. Members can designate a PCP by signing in to their premera.com account or calling Premera customer service.

What members should know when choosing a PCP:

  • The PCP must be in network
  • Providers can be searched using the Find a Doctor tool on premera.com
  • PCPs can practice in one or more of the following areas:
    • Family practice
    • General practice
    • Geriatrics
    • Gynecology
    • Internal medicine
    • Naturopathic medicine
    • Obstetrics
    • Pediatrics

Beginning this month, members may be notified of this benefit by text messages, email, and postcards. Members who live near a Kinwell clinic will be encouraged to choose a PCP at Kinwell.
