Newly Created Premera Accounts to Default to Electronic EOB

Members creating a new online account will now automatically default to electronic Explanation of Benefits (EOB).

Why it matters:

  • Convenience: Electronic EOBs provide a faster and more efficient way to access benefit information. Members will always have a digital copy available.
  • Environmentally friendly: Reducing paper usage helps us contribute to a greener planet.
  • Enhanced web experience: Members receiving electronic EOBs can take advantage of several new features on our website.

New features include:

  • “Not ready yet” status: To reduce confusion and improve satisfaction, this status informs members that their EOB is in process and will be available soon.
  • User interface update: The user interface for viewing and downloading electronic EOBs is more convenient and intuitive.
  • Informative info bubble: An info bubble directs members to a detailed page explaining EOBs to help them better understand their benefits.
  • Clearer paperless settings: Members find it easier to manage their paperless settings, ensuring they can opt for digital communications with ease.

Members can opt out of electronic EOBs in their account settings at any time if they prefer paper statements.
